On 28 March 2009, South Africa will join the planet for the first time and commit to Earthhour. People and organisations will be encouranged to turn off their power for 1 hour in a stand against climate change.
sustainableIT attended a WWF corporate event in Johannesburg today and pledged its commitment to Earthhour. This is a worthy cause around creating awareness of the impact and fight against climate change, which is extremely important for Africa as we will experience some of the biggest impacts affecting both water and food security in our already vulnerable region.
The target for this years Earthhour is 1 billion people around the globe and the SA target is just 3 million. Join us in supporting this by signing up at http://www.earthhour.org.za

As part of the student structure at the University of the Western Cape I fully support this “campaing” so the SRC would like to do something for that our for the students so that they would not be in their rooms and swicth on their appliances but ruther be at the cricket field with gas lamps and do perfomances Poetry with drums as it was done by our fore fathers before westernization came of course we need support. Good thinking
